Better World dress - No.1

$360.00

Gorgeous, colourful, one-of-a-kind dress — designed to be worn all year, your new go-to for effortless style.

Easy, oversized silhouette you can dress up or down. Round neck bodice finished with self-made binding, gathered skirt with flirty frills and essential front pockets for real life. Throw it on, layer it, live in it.

Front bodice panel features an Aboriginal Art printed cotton teatowel by Better World Arts (story below), paired with soft tan linen, a lightweight cotton/linen designer bird print, all trimmed with playful black-and-white spot rayon frills. Fabrics come from my extensive textile collection and are pre-washed to avoid shrinkage.

Measurements (flat lay)

  • Bust: 96 cm (total approx. 192 cm)

  • Centre back length: 91 cm

This piece is intentionally oversized and wonderfully easy. Truly one-of-a-kind — never to be repeated.

Warlukurlangu — Artists of Yuendumu This design is owned by Murdie Nampijinpa Morris. Two dog ancestors, Jampijinpa and Napangardi, travelled from the west to the east. They dug holes and created warnirri (rockholes) and ngapa (waterholes) as they went. The two dogs separated; Jampijinpa became lonely and howled. Napangardi ran to him from the south and they married at Ngarnka.

*Please note : my vintage maaniquin, Esmeralda, is only a size 10....so some of my pieces are a bit big on her! Make sure you check the actual measurements. I created an AI image to show the dress styled on a person.
